Sometimes I have a sudden urge to create... and I go crazy at 100 mph creating fun, wonderful things! It brings me so much joy to build & invest in our little home even though we don't plan on living in here for more than another year. While I can't totally reno it the way I want my forever space to be (aka shiplap, rustic beams & flooring, etc) I love creating temporary decor to make this space feel more and more like us.

Merry Christmas Eve everyone!
I am so blessed by our Lord Jesus. He has given me all I need & all I could ever want. A loving husband, and two beautiful babies.
In honor of December, I tried my best to take some cute Christmas photos of the kids, but Jason really wasn't having it.
June on the other hand LOVES getting her photos taken. She's pretty much a pro.
But this is what they did when I said "smile." Haha!
Well, you better not pout tonight! You know who is coming tomorrow! #icantwait!
Have a blessed Christmas friends!

Hey guys! Lots of you saw me posting about building this frame on social media. Well, I am finally going to share a few tips & tricks I used to create this baby.
So first, my sweet husband built this for me out of a painted piece of plywood, and some strips of pallet boards he thinned down with the table saw.

Hello everyone. Today I wanted to share some more pictures of our block nativity.
We always had a glass nativity set growing up. It's fragile nature resulted in armless wisemen, a half faced Joseph & so forth. Oh, and we always had a tradition of leaving baby Jesus out until Christmas Day when he was born... which resulted in Him getting lost...
It was about time to alter the tradition, in a kid friendly way!
Silas and I made these blocks using a 2x6 board (which is like less than $4 at Lowes or Home Depot) and a simple Jig Saw.

Hey! I can't believe I am finally sharing my DIY fireplace with you guys! It feels like forever ago since I started building it.
I thought it would be an appropriate tutorial to share since I just shared my Holiday Master Bedroom.
I am just in love with how it turned out, and now I think every house deserves it's own fireplace. Real or fake!
Right after Hurricane Matthew hit us, it was kind of cold over here on the coast... and I was craving cozy things. So I started playing with the scrap wood in our garage and started building a fireplace frame. It was kinda crazy, but I was like, "It will either be AMAZING or terrible."

Merry Christmas! Hope you all are doing great, and enjoying December! Today I have a behind the scenes video of my Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer painting. I am obsessed with using masking fluid for writing, so you will totally be seeing more of these type of watercolor pieces from me in the future.

I am so excited to share our Christmas Living Room with you all today!
It happens to be the most high traffic area in our house. We try to keep it pretty open so that the kids can run around & play.
We have a large sectional, so we had to get creative with it's placement in order to fit a Christmas tree into the room, but it's fun to switch things up occasionally.

Hey everyone! ready for some more Holiday Home Inspiration?! Today I am sharing how to bring a subtle flair of Christmas into your kitchen.
Kitchens are the heart of winter... When I think Christmas, I think family. When I think family, I think food... and I LOVE food. Making it, entertaining with it, eating it. It's all good in my book.
So this Christmas I wanted to bring the decorating into my kitchen. Having a big heaping chalkboard wall just called for some Christmas Hand Lettering, so that's where I started.
I love to bake, and I seriously think my chocolate chip cookies are one of the biggest factors in my husband marrying me. Not even kidding. With that said, I keep a lot of flour and sugar in stock, and I like to keep it out on the counter in glass canisters.

Hello Lovelys! Things have been pretty quiet around my blog lately. In all honestly, I have been trying to take a step back and do less this year. I want to be a good mommy to my little ones. Being happy and healthy is my number one priority, so no more graveyard shifts for me! Haha!
I have been working on some projects around the house just "for me" though, because I find scheduled blogging sucks the joy out of creating sometimes. By taking the time to just create beautiful things without the pressure of having to "document it," I have ended up with some wonderful things to share with you! And I have a whole house full of Christmas to share with you all!
So let's start the tour off with my Master Bedroom.
Some of you may have seen the step by step process I have shared on instagram of building this lovely chippy mantel. I am finally making good use of it in our bedroom, and it is currently serving as a home to our stockings.
I love everything to be fresh & clean in my room. It's the one place my kids don't (errr, don't normally) trash. So cheers to not overdoing it with decor.
I hand sewed these adorable stockings with fabric from spoonflower. I am seriously in love with how the represent us each as individuals. My great grandmother made us all stockings growing up, so this was something I really wanted to do for my kids... even though I was seriously tempted to just go the easy route and do store bought!
The seaglass & natural wood theme we have going in our room was just calling for some aqua blue christmas decor!
I like to bring in very subtle hints of nature. Normally I would uproot an actual tree or something, but I found these adorable baby pines and had to use them throughout my house.
Some people would tell me I have too much white in my house. I don't care. It makes everything else I have that does have color pop!
I like being able to spread out color evenly throughout the rooms I decorate. For example, I added a splash of blue on the chair with some pretty ornaments, and some matching vintage bottles across the room.
Last year I became obsessed with copper christmas lights. I mean, if you have to have a cord, flaunt it!
Tis is the one wall in the room that is free of Christmas spirit. ;)
Some of you all might recognize this frame from above my bed... Well, I decided to see what it would look like above my mantel, and I actually discovered it was the perfect length. So above the mantel is it's home for now.
My husband used to cut firewood for us when we lived in the cabin... Like legit cut firewood stuff: chainsaw the tree, chop the wood, grow muscles stuff, lol. I do really miss that part of our life, which is why I impulse built this fireplace.
One of my husbands friends at work was cutting some trees down and offered to give us some of the wood. I just wish I could have seen how that conversation went:
Husband: "So, my crazy wife is making me build her a fireplace that doesn't burn wood. Oh, and she's scraping the heck out of it to make it look old and gross"
Friend: "I'll make your life easier & give you some real wood to put in it."
Or at least, that' how I imagine their conversation went. Lol!
I will have to do a tutorial for how I built my fireplace, but for now, just enjoy the fruit of my labor and stare at that chippy paint goodness.
I will admit, it's taking everything for me to not paint the firewood box white.
I am super excited because I have more rooms in my house to share the holiday spirit with you all!
So stay tuned for some more eye candy, and of course some tutorials on the finished products.
Hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
