How to make Hot Glue Gun Snowflake Window Clings- an updated process!

So one of my most popular post to date (especially during Christmas) is my "Hot Glue Gun Snowflakes" (found HERE)

Originally, I glued the snowflakes right on to my windows. Some of them did peel off easily, but most of them took scrubbing to remove. With that said, and with the brilliant input of my lovely readers, I came up with a much better process that requires absolutely no clean up- every time!

Paper Owl Tutorial

Hey Everyone! Today I am sharing the last DIY taxidermy stuffed animal from June's Room.

I really wanted to do a bird for June's animal room, and my husband came up with the brilliant idea of an owl! June loves her owl & points up at it every night, saying, "Owl mommy!" I was worried that it might be too scary for a two year old to have above her bed, but apparently not for her! Haha! :)

DIY Pallet Wreath for all seasons!

Hey everyone! I have a fun tutorial for you today using a tool that I've been wanting to get my hands on for years: The Dremel Micro 8050! This baby is perfect for detailed carving on glass, stone, and wood. I had a pile of pallet boards just waiting to be made into something pretty. I wanted to make an "all seasons" wreath to go above my fireplace for Christmas. The fireplace part didn't work out because the short-sale we were buying fell through, but the sign turned out awesome!

Free Antler Graphics

 Hello Everyone!

It's been just over a year since I started sharing digital graphic freebies with you all. Remember my first freebie post HERE? It's probably my most popular post up to date. I honestly think it's because of that adorable stag I have on there.

I figured it is about time for another deer graphic post, so here it is!

You may have noticed that I have fallen for the antler decor craze. I don't know what it is about those majestic antlers that make hearts pitter patter, but I LOVE them!

Anyhow, for all of you fellow antler loving people, here are some fun graphics for you to use this Christmas! Use them in your digital design, on your Christmas cards & place cards, or print on a canvas for instant art!

These particular graphics look great layered on top of backgrounds, like chalkboard, because they have transparent fillings.

DIY Deer Head Stuffed Animal Taxidermy

Hey everyone! A few weeks ago I shared this adorable deer pattern & tutorial over at the lovely Liz Marie's Blog.

Today I am posting it here in case any of you missed it & because I just love it that much... it's pretty darn cute after all!

If you've been following along here on We Lived Happily Ever After, the you will know that I recently designed my daughter June's room in a Rustic Prairie Theme (see the whole space HERE), and one of the biggest highlights of the room was all of the DIY'ed animals I made.

I love Stuffed Animal Taxidermy. It's a fun way to showcase your love for animals without hurting any of them. And lets face it, they look so adorable when done!

How to Paint a Drop Cloth Rug & My Honest Thoughts On The After

You know what gets me excited about pinterest? A hoard of creative genius minds who come up with brilliant alternatives to expensive store bought decor!

Today is one of "those" posts. I was really intrigued by painted rugs, and when I started June's room (see it HERE) I knew that this was the perfect opportunity to try out this DIY.... At the bottom of this post, I am going to give you my honest opinion on how it has held up and if I would do it again.

This baby cost me like $15 to make because I already had the paint and the spray adhesive. The only thing I had to buy was the actual painter's drop cloth rug itself! The size I used was a 6x9 feet.I folded it in half, so it is now 6x4.5 feet. For this method, you need to get a drop cloth that is double the size you want it to be width -wise. That way you can fold it down the middle, resulting in a thicker rug.

I pre-washed mine with some borax to make it brighter. Also, if you ever plan on washing your rug, pre-shrinking in the wash is a must! After it's dry, iron your drop cloth until there isn't a wrinkle in sight. :)

How to Transform a SCARF into a HEADBOARD

June's Toddler Bed is the most practical thing in her room (see all the colorful cuteness HERE)... I mean, you need a bed in a bedroom, right? My husband, Silas, and I built it together because I didn't want to put a full twin size bed in her room so she could have more room to play.

I'll be putting up a tutorial and plans on how we made her bed soon, but today I'm going to show you the eye candy part of this DIY Toddler Bed: The Headboard!

Believe it or not, I made this headboard with 2 scarfs from Walmart. And it's awesome!

This scarf method works perfectly for toddler beds, and if you turn it on it's side horizontally, it will work for a twin, and maybe a full. It all depends on how large your scarf is. I purposefully made her's "tall" so that I could turn it on it's side and use it on a twin in the future.

Here is a full list of materials used for this project:
-2 scarfs (I used two because they were see-through thin, so I layered them on top of each other)
-Plywood the width of your bed (and whatever height you need it to be)
-Thick Batting Foam (you can buy yours, or if you're like me, steal it off of old furniture)
-Super 77 Adhesive Spray (THIS is the stuff I used)
-Upholstery Buttons (THESE are the ones I used)
-A Drill and Screws
- A Big Strong Needle, thick Thread & Pliers for attaching the upholstery buttons
