Who hasn't heard of Operation Christmas Child, otherwise known as "Operation Shoe Box"?
If you haven't you are going to LOVE it!
I grew up packing shoe boxes for other children. It made me so happy, and really illustrates the truth that "It is more blessed to give than to receive."
Basically, you pack a shoe box size box with toys, hard candy, school supplies and any other things you can think of, and they are distributed by Samaritan's Purse to children around the world.
Just look at these precious happy faces:
This is a wonderful, WONDERFUL way to give and show love to a child in need.
Collection Week for Operation Christmas Child is coming up soon (November 12-19), but there is still plenty of time to pack a box!
Here are some wonderful lists of items to put into your box.
Most importantly, what I love about this organization is how the share and spread the Love of Christ. To read some of the amazing testimonies of children who have been touched by this simple gift, visit OCC's Facebook Page.
So go pack some shoeboxes!!!
